摘要: In an ecological study of the freshwater sponge, Metania spinata (Metaniidae), in Lagoa Dourada reservoir, River Lobo watershed, Brazil, we found substantial seasonal variation biomass and productivity related them to environmental variables (climatic hydrologic). Sponges were sampled monthly by quadrat technique, from March 1989 April 1990, at two sites near dam order estimate population dynamics. Biomass peaks spring/summer, with gemmulation occurring September (autumn/winter). The minimal production M. during period was estimated as difference between highest lowest biomass, 33.54 gAFDM m-2 yr-1, yielding a P/B ratio 2.72.
