摘要: Summary Network utilization by legacy transmission control protocol (TCP) is determined its round trip time (RTT) dependent mechanism for the growth of sending rate. The RTT does not always reflect actual network conditions, especially in case wireless local area (WLAN). Consequently, it influences RTT-dependent falsely. This paper proposes a novel cross-layer scheme between TCP and Institute Electrical Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11 medium access (MAC) that compensates any diminished TCP's rate because inclusion non-congestion delay component RTT, if any. proposed has two refinements. first refinement at MAC layer notifies additional propagation on account link retransmission packet. second which sender adapts relating aforementioned to estimation. To examine benefits, evaluated after implementing top representative variants; Newreno Westwood+ (TCPW). Simulation results showed with scheme, native improved more than 35% dedicated WLAN environment, while performance remained protected shared environment. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
