Adenoid cystic carcinoma of the breast.An analysis of 21 cases

摘要: The clinical and pathologic findings in 21 patients with adenoid cystic carcinoma of the breast are presented. Nineteen were living well after treatment. Two died unrelated causes. Local recurrence appeared only 2 patients, 3 7 years following simple excision, but they free disease 9 14 subsequent mastectomy. No or evidence lymph node distant metastasis was found any patients. For these reasons, mastectomy is advocated as preferred treatment for carcinoma, unless tumor particularly large there enlarged axillary nodes. favorable prognosis sharp contrast to that histologically identical tumors other sites. Possible explanations this striking difference behavior discussed.
