摘要: Brown trout daily activities were divided into two broad c ategor ies, rest ing and feed i ng, the popul ation was d vi ed three size groups (one of which is reported on here), based timing location these activities. Microhabitat components, measured previously in four rivers at sites occupied by fish, utilized to develop usable component ranges for each group activity illustrate breadth values out total range available. thus described as a numerical specific set components. A go meter section Blacksmith Fork River northern Utah mapped measuring depth, current velocity light. scuba diver searched area, locating identifying brown according activity. comparison fish locations with maps indicates correctly identified high percentage trout. chisquare test probability uniform distribution significant both feeding resting sites. components most effectively regulate this type intermountain stream can be measured, used estimate proportion habitable. These quantified should enable designing channel alterations provide proper microhabitat.
