The effect of Mg-Al additive composition on microstructure, magnetic properties, and microwave absorption on BaFe12−2xMgxAlxO19 (x = 0–0.5) material synthesized from natural iron sand

摘要: Abstract The syntheses of BaFe12−2xMgxAlxO19 have been successfully carried out at x = 0–0.5 using the co-precipitation method and precursors BaCl2, MgCl2, Al2Cl3 natural iron sand from Kata Beach, Sumatera Barat-Indonesia. characterizations were XRD, FE-SEM, VSM, VNA. effect Mg-Al addition to barium hexaferrite microstructure resulted in decreasing magnetic properties microwave absorption. results study obtained was a BaFe12O19 with particle sizes ranging between 28.1 nm 44.2 nm. optimum condition x = 0.1  crystal diameter 44.2 nm, saturation 44.75 emu g−1 coercivity 2358 Oe. maximum reflection loss value is −63.85 dB frequency 10.90 GHz micro-wave absorption 99.99%.
