摘要: Summary There are few physiologic studies that substantiate thepopular belief mules superior to horses as working animals. The purpose of this study was compare selected cardiac dimensions and right-sided pressures horses. Using 2-D real time M-mode echocardiography transjugular catheterization resting were recorded from 10 adult similar in size physical condition, both groups had served equally pack end diastolic left ventricular lumen diameter, interventricular septal thickness, free wall aortic root diameter measured (mean ± SD) 9.51 ±0.92 cm, 2.63±0.34 2.28±0.31 7.9±0.57 respectively, mules, 9.83±0.87 2.83±0.29 2.39±0.33 7.9±0.36 systolic 5.79 cm 5.94±0.99 horses, yielding luminal shortening fractions 39.2±7.15% 39.7±6.91% Right atrial mean pressure 5.3±2.3 mm Hg 5.8±1.2 peak 47.9±4.9 47.7±3.5 Pulmonary artery 27.3±3.2 28.1±3.6 No significant differences detected between for the examined or measured.
