摘要: Abstract Onshore wind and solar-photovoltaic-based electricity are expected to drive most of the global growth in renewable energy sources capacity until 2020. This creates a challenge for properly modelling such intermittent variable resources since: (i) their availability varies spatially temporally (ii) thus, integration power systems is determined by configuration transmission grids. Large system models usually adopt simplified approaches solar photovoltaic (PV) deployment grid. paper uses recently developed TIMES-Brazil optimisation model study role bottlenecks cost-effective long-term Brazilian up 2050. The explicitly grid infrastructure 29 regions Brazil differentiated according existing plants, availabilities, future RES potentials demand. Three different scenarios (Free Trade, Simplified Trade Detailed Trade), with increasingly more detail lines, were tested. Findings show that detailed significantly affects deployments prices. connecting North South was found be important bottleneck affecting country.
