摘要: In this study we investigated whether there exists a periodic contractile activity of the radial artery, and evaluated impact such an oscillatory behavior on mechanical properties medium-sized muscular vessel. The internal diameter right artery was measured noninvasively in six healthy male volunteers aged 18-42 yr using high-precision ultrasonic echo-tracking device. Blood pressure simultaneously recorded same side at middle finger by photoplethysmography. electrical heart monitored during entire experiment electrocardiography. frequency components arterial diameter, blood pressure, rate were obtained spectral analysis. Under resting conditions, exhibited spontaneous oscillation with period ranging from 45 to 70 s amplitude 80 +/- 14 microns (+/- SE). No very low-frequency mode (< or = 0.02 Hz) identified either pressure. These oscillations affected distensibility-pressure curves acquired simultaneously. Thus 3-4% variation paralleled 1.5- 2-fold change distensibility. large arteries seem be mediated intrinsic vascular mechanism.
