摘要: Image-guided neurosurgery, or neuronavigation, has been used to visualise the location of a surgical probe by mapping pre-operative models patient's anatomy. One common limitation this approach is that it requires surgeon divert their attention away from patient and towards neuronavigation system. In order improve type application, authors designed system sonifies (i.e. provides audible feedback of) distance information between anatomy interest. A user study (n = 15) was completed determine utility sonified within an existing platform (Intraoperative Brain Imaging System (IBIS) Neuronav). The authors' results were consistent with idea combining auditory cues visual image-guided surgery systems may result in greater accuracy when locating specified points on scan, thereby potentially reducing extent required openings, as well increasing precision individual tasks. Further, also hypothesis reduces perceived difficulty target three-dimensional volume.
