摘要: Background The objective of this study was to analyse inequalities in cirrhosis mortality at individual and area levels, using data from Barcelona for two time periods. Methods Deaths men women aged 25e74 years during the periods 1992e97 1998e2004 were included study. A multilevel Poisson regression analysis performed, with as respective units analysis. Results Inequalities observed relationship socioeconomic highest death rates among those lowest educational level socioeconomically deprived areas. In analysis, largest effects level. Between periods, decreased levels (eg, 116.2 88.7 per 100000 inhabitants or no education 50e74 years), but not intermediate levels. At level, absolute tended decrease; however, higher RR persisted least favoured compared most areas men, 1.74 (95% CI 1.36 2.24) 1.80 1.42 2.27) periods). Conclusion This demonstrated persistence between groups city
