摘要: Background: There is a worldwide tendency towards reduction in the rates of deaths due to cirrhosis. In Chile, decrease number hospital admissions this disease has been recorded. Aim: To assess general characteristics and temporal evolution liver cirrhosis mortality Chile between 1990 2007. Material Methods: National death records population databases were reviewed. Crude age-adjusted for alcoholic non-alcoholic calculated, evaluating their study period relative risk by gender. Results: period, 44,894 caused Mortality rate was 16.6 per 100,000 inhabitants. 54% attributed both types Males accounted 83 65% cirrhosis, respectively. The figures 5 1.9, Conclusions: Alcoholic preponderant cause among deaths. A observed period. Improvements treatment control could possibly explain trend.
