摘要: This paper investigates the role of envelope fluctuations in simultaneous masking conditions. Thresholds for tones noise with a flat temporal (low-noise noise, LNN) were compared those Gaussian noise. All measurements performed running-noise presentation 500-ms maskers. The sinusoidal signal was spectrally and temporally centered masker. main findings were: (a) 5.5-dB threshold difference between 100-Hz-wide LNN maskers at 1 kHz that previously observed using frozen (cf. Hartmann Pumplin [J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 83. 2277-2289 (1988)]) is also apparant running although thresholds are generally higher latter condition. (b) reaches maximum 9.4 dB masker bandwidth 25 Hz, while 10 kHz, 15 bandwidths 50 100 Hz. For presented different center frequencies, there no advantage below kHz. Towards two noises increases about (c) At 100-Hz bandwidth, decreasing duration from 500 to 20 ms 7.6 dB. (d) dichotic condition, which phase out phase, lie within 2 types, nearly constant 5 It argued primary detection cue not an increase energy, but rather due addition signal. hypotheses supported by simulations auditory-filterbank model. further suggest that, large advantage, it sufficient output on-frequency filter. In addition, crucial off-frequency filters yield envelope.
