Occurrence of Polar Organic Pollutants in Groundwater Bodies of Catalonia

摘要: Currently, about half of the groundwater bodies in Catalonia present a bad status terms water quantity and chemical quality. The latter is linked to land use, since contamination originates from agricultural, industrial, urban activities. This chapter reviews monitoring programs performed up 18 with common objective assessing occurrence fate different polar organic contaminants (PolOPs) subsurface. They include evaluation pesticides veterinary antibiotics sulfonamides rural areas study pharmaceuticals, illicit drugs, UV filters areas. A review analytical methodologies used for analysis these compounds has been provided, PolOP concentrations measured have discussed spatial temporal variability potential sources.
