摘要: Summary Purpose—Patient studies have not provided consistent evidence for interictal neuronal hyperexcitability inside the seizure onset zone (SOZ). We hypothesized that gray matter (GM) loss could important effects on firing, and quantifying these would reveal significant differences in firing versus outside SOZ. Methods—MRI computational unfolding of mesial temporal lobe (MTL) subregions was used to construct anatomical maps compute GM presurgical patients with medically intractable focal seizures relation control subjects. In patients, same were locate position microelectrodes recorded activity. Single neuron burst rates evaluated MTL Key findings—MTL thickness reduced SOZ respect subjects, yet associated more strongly several Adjusting single revealed significantly higher subregion consisting dentate gyrus CA2 CA3 (CA23DG), as well CA1 entorhinal cortex (EC) where normalized MRI ≥1.40 mm.
