摘要: A faithful description of many biological processes requires us to take into account noise and fluctuations. Simplified stochastic models may help shed light on the role fluctuations in systems. Two kinds theoretical problems for such simplified are discussed this paper. Firstly, I review approaches calculating analytically statistics non-linear spontaneous neural activity. In particular, discuss (i) interspike interval correlations non-renewal neurons (ii) effect synaptic short-term plasticity signal transfer. Secondly, more conceptual problem how detailed related models. consider, as an example open kind, relation between coupled molecular motors active Brownian motion.
