摘要: Multivariate methods were used to examine epiphytic species composition on the lower trunk of Acer macrophyllum at five sites in south-coastal British Columbia, Canada. Differences and abundance between attributed mainly variation relative humidity light conditions. Bark chemistry differences accounted for only a small portion observed sites. Within sites, compositional was examined over 0.5–5 m from ground level upper, vertical, surfaces leaning trees. Compositional vegetation with height inclination tended be more strongly developed drier Furthermore, all greater upper (wetter) than (drier) surfaces. Particular occur similar locations surface different suggesting that some microhabitat specialization has occurred. Observed distributional shifts appeared greatest among differing widely prevailing microenvironmental
