摘要: Lichen determinations were made on aspect samples of bark Populus tremuloides growing in forest and parkland conditions three locations -the foothills near Waterton Park (Alberta), the Cypress Hills southwestern Saskatchewan, Aspen Parkland north Biggar, Saskatchewan. Of 30 lichen species, only seven occurred all areas more than 10% samples. Species occurrence abundance could be correlated with measured differences (several species showing north-side preference), generally observed annual precipitation, bark, possibly supply oif nutrients. In lichen-aspen community, showed similarity to Central Saskatchewan area Rocky Mountains. No tree North America has a wider distribution quaking aspen, tremuloides, world one exceeds it extent range-its relative European P. tremula. Together these two trees nearly encircle globe, covering 1400 American, 1120 longitude. latitudinal American aspen covers 410, while south range is about 350 (Weigle & Frothingham, 1911). Although many studies western Canada have been reported, lichens there received casual treatment literature. Macoun (1902) listed found poplar Canada-Physcia stellaris, Rinodina exigua, Teloschistes polycarpa. Thomson Scotter (1961) Caloplaca cerina C. ulmorum Black Lake region northern Looman (1962) Bacidia acclinis, B. melaena, Catillaria griffithii southern The purposes present study determine what occur trembling Canada, consider behavior those according separate geographic Canadian Great Plains, test community among locations.
