摘要: Background Multi-drug resistant (MDR) Acinetobacter baumannii is an important cause of hospital acquired infection and often increases mortality length stay[1-3]. The mechanisms resistance include: (1) antimicrobialinactivating enzymes such as -lactamases, (2) alteration membrane porin channels, (3) mutations that change cellular functions [4]. Accurate genotyping correlation to antimicrobial susceptibility will help prevent treat outbreaks Acinetobacter. genome A. ranges from 3.2 Megabases (Mb) in the drug sensitive SDF strain up 3.9 Mb MDR AYE strain. A surprisingly high proportion ORFs, (15%-20%), are located islands or “alien islands” long stretches DNA a foreign source. has 86Kb island containing 45-50 genes insertion hotspot [5]. Our study aims sequence several isolates Metro Nashville General (NGH) Hospital conduct strain-to-reference genomic characterization clinical virulence factors.
