摘要: The winds of the hot, luminous, OB stars are driven by line-scattering star's continuum radiation flux. Several kinds observational evidence indicate that such highly structured and variable, it seems likely a root cause this variability is strong instability line-driving mechanism. This paper reviews basic physics linear summarizes results from numerical simulations its nonlinear evolution. Particular emphasis placed on dynamical importance diffuse, scattered field, recent methods for incorporating scattering effects into simulations. I also summarize preliminary synthetic UV line, Ha, IR spectra in wind models with extensive structure.
