摘要: Abstract Objectives To describe a cadaveric temporal bone model of labyrinthitis ossificans and investigate the utility intraoperative cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in facilitating cochlear implantation. Design Cadaveric study. Methods Five heads had cement introduced into 10 cochleas. CBCT conventional CT scan were compared to assess extent obliteration. The was drilled-out (under guidance, if required) implant electrode arrays (from 3 different manufacturers) inserted. Results images demonstrated anatomy obliteration as clearly all cases. Intraoperative guided drilling facilitated placement two five (3 ears). Streak-artifact from electrodes devices partially obscured image clarity. Conclusions obliterated reproduced disease-ossified both radiographically surgically. is useful for imaging facilitate array or congenitally abnormal cochlea.
