摘要: The existing fracture-characterization techniques are based on assuming the unfractured host rock either to be isotropic or magnitudes of both background and crack-induced anisotropies small. I relax assumptions examine effective media caused by fractures with realistic (not small) crack densities in a strongly anisotropic, primarily transversely (TI) rock. analysis penny-shaped cracks noninteraction approximation (NIA) reveals dependence their excess fracture compliance tensors orientation symmetry axis. As result this dependence, tensor generally becomes rotationally noninvariant even when circular.
