摘要: Abstract Underground coal gasification (UCG) is a promising option for the future use of un-worked coal. UCG permits to be gasified in situ within seam, via matrix wells. The ignited and air injected underground sustain fire, which essentially used “mine” produce combustible synthetic gas can industrial heating, power generation or manufacture hydrogen, natural diesel fuel. As compared with conventional mining surface gasification, promises lower capital/operating costs also has other advantages, such as no human labor underground. In addition, potential linked carbon capture sequestration. increasing demand energy, depletion oil, resources, threat global climate change have lead growing interest throughout world. access low grade, inaccessible resources convert them commercially competitively into syngas enormous, applications power, fuel, chemical production. This article reviews literature on research contributions are reported main emphasis given physical characteristic feedstock, process chemistry, gasifier designs, operating conditions. done provide general background allow reader understand influence variables UCG. Thermodynamic studies operation optimization based thermodynamics, biomass reaction engineering particularly recently developed kinetic models, advantages technical challenges UCG, finally, prospects technology reviewed.
