摘要: In this review, we discuss how environmental exposures predominate the etiology of colorectal cancer (CRC). With CRC being a personalized disease influenced by genes and environment, our goal was to explore role metabolomics can play in identifying exposures, assessing interplay between co-exposures, development therapeutic interventions. Approximately 10% cases be explained germ-line mutations, whereas prevailing majority is caused an initiating exposure event occurring decades prior diagnosis. Recent research has shown that dietary metabolites are linked both procarcinogenic or protective environment colon, which modulated microbiome. addition, excessive alcohol been increase risk dependent on diet, response microbiome, genetic polymorphisms within folate metabolic pathways. Metabolomics cannot only used identify modulation host metabolism, could affect not progression tumors but also targeted therapeutics. This review highlights current understanding multifaceted mechanisms where field contribute greater CRC.
