摘要: Cultural diversity can put a strain on social cohesion in society. On the one hand, immigrants’ loyalty and commitment to Netherlands have been questioned public political debates. other fact that immigrants occupy relatively disadvantaged socio-economic positions society has raised concerns about discrimination inequality. This thesis investigates psychological integration of immigrants, words their sense national belonging, asks what extent economic stimulating effect. Four different aspects are studied: intentions settle permanently Netherlands, identification with generalized trust, attitudes towards natives host Furthermore, roles contact natives, cultural integration, perceived relative deprivation studied as possible intermediary mechanisms. The analyses this based large-scale survey data, collected among first second generation Netherlands. study focuses both largest minority groups – Turks, Moroccans, Surinamese, Antilleans refugees from Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, former Yugoslavia. comparisons made native Dutch reference group several chapters thesis. data is analyzed through multivariate statistical analyses. results confirm directly indirectly related integration.
