摘要: Abstract Objective: Chronic hyperglycaemia is associated with subfertility and infertility in male diabetic subjects, possible as a result of perturbed testicular antioxidant defence system. Recent evidence however shows that some cells produce insulin this raises the possibility role for hormone spermatogenesis. Moreover, isoforms nuclear peroxisome proliferator activated receptor (PPAR) have been detected tissue, suggesting sensitisation function. In study, we report ameliorative effects PPAR γ agonist pioglitazone on morphologic aberrations impaired semen profile induced by diabetes rats treated intraperitoneal alloxan (150 mg/kg). Setting: This an vivo experimental study. Methods: Diabetic were randomized to receive oral at 10 or 30 mg/kg once daily 6 weeks, after which euthanised under anaesthesia. Caudal epididymal sperm was analysed count, motility morphology, testosterone levels measured homogenates enzyme immunoassay technique. Portions testes fixed processed H&E Gordon Sweet techniques. Blood glucose estimated weekly during treatment using glucometer. Results: Weekly blood measurement showed weak effect our model. Nonetheless, findings from caudal analysis significantly high density pioglitazone-treated two doses tested ( P > 0.05). Conclusion: These show increased sensitivity mediated restores histomorphometry improves quality rats, despite glitazone glucose. suggests sensitizers improved signalling amelioration lesions regulation spermatogenesis state, lends support promoting functions.
