摘要: Selectivities of solvent polymeric membrane ion-selective electrodes (ISEs) are quantitatively related to equilibria at the interface between sample and electrode membrane. However, only correctly determined selectivity coefficients allow accurate predictions ISE responses real-world samples. Moreover, they also required for optimization ionophore structures compositions. Best suited such purposes potentiometric as defined already in 1960s. This paper briefly reviews basic relationships focuses on possible biases determination coefficients. The traditional methods determine (separate solution method, fixed interference method) still same those originally proposed by IUPAC 1976. several precautions needed obtain meaningful data. For example, errors arise when response a weakly interfering ion is influenced primary leaching from Wrong may be obtained agent highly preferred shows counterion interference. Recent advances show how pitfalls can avoided. A detailed recipe correct unaffected presented.
