摘要: Computed tomography (CT) and positron emission (PET) using the radiopharmaceutical 18F-2-deoxy-d-glucose (FDG) play an important role in diagnosis tumor node metastasis staging of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). CT is optimal modality for evaluating primary tumor, whereas PET useful improving accuracy by detecting occult nodal distant metastases. However, both modalities have limitations evaluation detection With regard to FDG-PET, these are amplified adenocarcinoma that manifests as a subsolid nodule carcinoid tumors lung, malignancies commonly low levels FDG avidity. Because misinterpretation studies can alter when nodules tumors, awareness knowledge required appropriate patient management. This article reviews use uncommon neoplasms well radiotracers been developed interrogate different metabolic pathways, receptors, targets overcome potential FDG-PET diagnosis, staging, early response monitoring targeted therapies.
