Sulfate aerosol as a potential transport medium of radiocesium from the Fukushima nuclear accident.

摘要: To date, areas contaminated by radionuclides discharged from the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant accident have been mapped in detail. However, size of and their mixing state with other aerosol components, which are critical removal atmosphere, not yet revealed. We measured activity distributions 134Cs 137Cs aerosols collected 47 days after at Tsukuba, Japan, found that median aerodynamic diameters first sample (April 28–May 12) were 0.54 0.53 μm, respectively, those second (May 12–26) both 0.63 μm. The these radiocesium within accumulation mode range almost overlapped mass distribution non-sea-salt sulfate aerosol.
