摘要: This article provides an overview of the recent literature on use internet-based testing to address important questions in perception research. Our goal is provide a starting point for researcher who keen assessing this tool their own research goals. Internet-based has several advantages over in-lab research, including ability reach relatively broad set participants and quickly inexpensively collect large amounts empirical data, via services such as Amazon’s Mechanical Turk or Prolific Academic. In many cases, quality online data appears match that collected lab Generally-speaking, tend be more representative population at than those recruited based There are, though, some caveats, when it comes collecting online. It obviously much difficult control exact parameters stimulus presentation (such display characteristics) with are also thorny ethical elements need considered by experimenters. Strengths weaknesses approach, relative others, highlighted, recommendations made researchers might thinking about conducting studies using increasingly-popular approach psychological sciences.
