摘要: Abstract The paper explores opportunities and limitations for concomitant improvement of maize grain quantity quality traits stover in 60 parental lines, 30 crosses/local checks 12 released hybrids. Investigated were protein (CP), fat, metabolizable energy (ME), lysine tryptophan. Stovers investigated nitrogen (N), neutral (NDF) acid detergent fiber (ADF), lignin (ADL), vitro organic matter digestibility (IVOMD) ME. Quality using near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) applied to whole ground stover. Application NIRS was unsuccessful but CP, fat ME contents well predicted with R 2  = 0.81, 0.83 0.94, respectively, predictions tryptophan acceptable (  = 0.70). Maize generally by  = 0.81–0.96). Genotype environment effect significant on the grain, whereas G  ×  E not significant. Trade-offs between absent or weak inconsistent several incompatible. Thus CP negatively correlated yield. Lysine consistently significantly CP. Line cultivars-dependent variation high enough be nutritional significance monogastrics ruminants.
