Macroalgal diversity for sustainable biotechnological development in French tropical overseas territories

摘要: This review focuses on the diversity of French tropical overseas macroalgae and their biotechnological applications. After listing specific diversity, i.e. 641 species in Antilles Atlantic Ocean, 560 Indian 1015 South Pacific we present potential metabolites main uses. Among great metabolites, focus carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, pigments secondary particular terpenes phenolic compounds. The applications reef are described human animal consumptions, phycocolloids extraction, production active ingredients for health, cosmetics, agriculture, bioremediation. For each application, list what has been done, or will be done territories point out challenges faced when using this chemo-diversity, problems linked to exploitation. Finally, discuss develop seaweed farming, uses carbon sequestration resilience global change, alternative proteins together with bioenergy biomaterials. As a conclusion, encourage research chemo-diversity industrial as these organisms represent reservoir that is still insufficiently explored.
