摘要: In environmental risk assessment of metals it is often assumed that the biota-to-soil accumulation factor (BSAF) generic and constant. However, previous studies have shown cadmium bioaccumulation factors earthworms small mammals are inversely related to total soil concentrations. Here, we provide an overview in terrestrial species belonging different trophic levels, including plants, snails moles. Internal metal concentrations these less than linearly which accordance with previously observed trends. The mechanistic model OMEGA (Optimal Modeling for Ecotoxicological Applications) used a quantitative explanation trends accumulation. Our results indicate accurately predicts earthworms, voles shrews when accounting geochemical availability saturable uptake kinetics.
