摘要: Abstract The photosensitized cis-trans isomerization of butene-2 in the presence sulphur dioxide excited within its first allowed absorption band has been examined. Isomerization results primarily from reaction triplet SO2 molecules (3SO2) with although there is some evidence for a singlet cis-2-butene leading to isomerization. quenching rate constants 3SO2 cis-butene-2 and trans-butene-2 relative were determined measurements quantum yields at high [SO2]/[butene-2] ratios. reaction: + (cis or trans) → SO2+x (1—x) 1.62 ± 0.08 × 1011 1 mol−1 s−1 cis isomer 1.42 0.09 trans based on literature value 3.9 108 absolute constant SO2. x, fraction formed isomerization, was 0.587 0.028. provides useful method determination photolysis band.
