摘要: Abstract We aimed to determine the presence of oxidative stress in rhinitis medicamentosa (RM) and evaluate effect erdosteine (ED) on mucosal changes a rat model. Twenty-four male rats were used this experimental study. Three groups created. Group 1 ( n =8) was control group. Two puffs 0.05% oxymetazolin sprayed into nasal cavities remaining =16) three times daily for eight weeks. One these 16 scarified at end weeks examined confirm RM. Seven killed, venous blood samples taken (Group 2). 3 received 10 mg/kg an ED suspension orally seven days. All put formalin light microscopy. The total antioxidant status (TAS) similar all p =0.073). (TOS) RM group significantly higher than that RM+ED 3) =0.003 =0.011, respectively). pathological recovery mucosa groups. TOS high model, associated with ameliorated induced by RM, suggesting may play important role pathophysiology condition.
