摘要: Positron emission tomography (PET) is a whole-body imaging technique using 18 fluorine-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG), whose uptake increased in tumor cells. Published studies have shown PET to be an effective method of staging lymphoma and more sensitive than CT at detecting extranodal disease. The purpose this study was determine whether the marrow FDG observed some patients during routine scans represented involvement by 50 with Hodgkin's (12) non-Hodgkin's (38) were analyzed three independent observers graded as normal or abnormal visual grading system. Unilateral iliac crest aspirates biopsies performed on all patients. scan histology agreed 39 (78%), being concordant positive 13 negative 26 In 8 showed but biopsy negative; 4 these background focal "hot spots" distant from site biopsied. 3 specimen normal; 2 had malignant cells did not take up lymph node disease sites. Therefore, there only 5 (10%) whom difference between result which could fully explained. Visual interpretation can correctly assess status high proportion has potential reduce need for biopsy.
