摘要: This paper aims at updating the progress on phosphorus-based flame retardants specifically designed and developed for fibers fabrics (particularly referring to cotton, polyester their blends) over last five years. Indeed, as clearly depicted by Horrocks in a recent review, world of textiles is still experiencing some changes that are focused topics like improvement its effectiveness replacement toxic chemical products with counterparts have low environmental impact and, hence, more sustainable. In this context, compounds play key role may lead, possibly combination silicon- or nitrogen-containing structures, design new, efficient fabrics. Therefore, review thoroughly describes advances potentialities offered recently lab-scale, highlighting current limitations, open challenges perspectives toward possible exploitation larger scale.
