摘要: Touch screens are increasingly used within modern vehicles, providing the potential for a range of gestures to facilitate interaction under divided attention conditions. This paper describes study aiming understand how drivers naturally make swipe in vehicle context when compared with stationary setting. Twenty experienced were requested undertake gesture on touch screen manner they felt was appropriate execute wide activate/deactivate, increase/decrease and next/previous tasks. All participants undertook tasks either driving right-hand drive, medium-fidelity simulator or whilst sitting stationary. Consensus emerged direction swipes made relatively small number tasks, particularly related playing music. The physical action different directions found affect length speed gesture. Finally, typically more slowly situation, reflecting reduced resources available this and/or handedness participants. Conclusions drawn regarding future design interacting in-vehicle screens.
