摘要: In the B19 VP2 molecule an immunodominant heptapeptide epitope has been detected, recently for which IgG antibodies are synthesized exclusively in acute phase of infection. Using this acute-phase-specific (KYVTGIN) a 2nd-generation epitope-type EIA was developed, compares serum activity native capsids exhibiting conformational epitopes with KYVTGIN epitope. study diagnostic performance (clinical sensitivity and specificity) 1st EIAs peptide-based utilising as antigen alone assessed comparison various high-quality IgM- IgG- based assays. Serum samples from 489 patients B19-related symptoms asymptomatic controls three countries were studied. Among 323 B19-IgG, 20% diagnosed infection, 73% had past immunity 7% not classified due to contradictory results among different The unclassified explored viral strain diversity by PCR DNA sequencing but all sequences obtained B19-like variance only few per cent. 98% specificity 94%. combination conventional approaches, assays increase greatly accuracy serodiagnosis.
