Mechanism of acoustic emissions from booming sand dunes

摘要: The classical elastic mechanics shows that the fundamental frequency of a sand grain chain is similar to typical acoustic emission generated by booming dunes. "song dunes" therefore considered originate from resonance chains occurring within solid layer only several centimeters thick.
