摘要: Many physicians have received a frantic call from anxious parents stating that their child had stopped breathing, become limp, or turned blue but then recovered quickly. An apparent life-threatening event (ALTE) is defined as “an episode frightening to the observer, and characterized by some combination of apnea, color change, marked change in muscle tone, choking, gagging, coughing”. The incidence ALTE reported be 0.05% 6%. knowledge about most common causes factors associated with higher risk could resulted more purposeful approach, improving decision making process, benefiting both children parents. aim this review article was report epidemiology, etiology, evaluation, management, disposition ALTE. Infants an might present no signs acute illness are commonly managed emergency settings often require significant medical attention; hence, medicine personnel should aware its clinical importance. There specific treatment for ALTE; therefore, evaluations focused on detection underlying causes, which will define outcomes prognosis. confusing entity, representing constellation descriptive symptoms signs; other words, it not diagnosis. multiple possible etiologies difficulties evaluating managing infants these events, challenges primary care physicians, specialists, subspecialty pediatricians. evaluation events includes detailed history, appropriate physical examination, diagnostic tests guided obtained clues history observation department.
