Burnout Patients Primed with Success Did Not Perform Better on a Cognitive Task than Burnout Patients Primed with Failure

摘要: Burnout patients perform poorer on cognitive tasks than healthy controls. A possible explanation for this decreased performance is a relatively permanent reduced motivation to expend effort. In previous study, we failed enhance the of burnout using monetary incentive and positive feedback. an attempt bypass cognitions about fatigue performance, tried motivate controls implicitly by priming participants with either success or failure prior task performance. As expected, primed outperformed failure. However, no differential effect was observed in patients. This suggests that fails subjects burnout.
