摘要: Rat has been the major model species used in several biomedical fields, notably drug development and toxicology, including carcinogenicity testing. is also a useful basic cancer research. Several rat models of monogenic (Mendelian) human hereditary cancers are available. Some were obtained spontaneously, while others generated either by mutagenesis tumor suppressor genes or transgenesis activated oncogenes (transgenesis can be performed efficiently rat). In addition, among hundreds inbred strains that have isolated, some highly susceptible resistant to certain types cancer, these divergent phenotypes shown polygenic. Numerous quantitative trait loci (QTLs) controlling susceptibility/resistance defined linkage analyses, QTLs physically demonstrated congenic strains. These studies led, particular, rapid translation human, with identification susceptibility form multiple endocrine neoplasia (monogenic trait) breast (polygenic disease). The biology resistance analyzed, (but not all) cases, it was linked regression preneoplasic lesions. tumors subject various led important conclusions, classified on basis identity inducing agent, thereby suggesting analyses may valuable determining retrospectively role specific carcinogens formation cancers, particular.
