摘要: Direct human brain recordings have transformed the scope of neuroscience in past decade. Progress has relied upon currently available neurophysiological approaches context patients undergoing neurosurgical procedures for medical treatment. While this setting provided precious opportunities scientific research, it also presented significant constraints on development new neurotechnologies. A major challenge now is how to achieve high-resolution spatiotemporal neural at a large scale. By narrowing gap between current approaches, directions tailored mesoscopic (intermediate) scale resolution may overcome barriers towards safe and reliable human-based neurotechnology development, with implications advancing both basic research clinical translation.
