摘要: We propose a model of the radiation-induced bystander effect based on an analogy with magnetic systems. The main benefit this approach is that it allowed us to apply powerful methods statistical mechanics. exploits similarity between how spin–spin interactions result in correlations spin states ferromagnets, and signalling from damaged cell reduces chances survival neighbour cells, resulting correlated states. At root classical Hamiltonian, similar Ising ferromagnet long-range interactions. formalism developed framework Mean Field Theory. It applied modelling tissue response uniform radiation field. In case results are remarkably simple at same time nontrivial. They include curves, expressions for tumour control probability effects fractionation. extends beyond what normally considered as effects. offers insight into low-dose hypersensitivity mechanisms behind threshold doses deterministic
