摘要: J Oral Pathol Med (2010) 39: 335–341 Background: spindle cell carcinoma (SpCC) is a rare variant of oral squamous (SCC). The aims this study were to compare the clinicopathologic and immunohistochemical features SpCC with conventional SCC. Methods: Five cases 10 SCC (five well-differentiated five poorly differentiated) evaluated through hematoxylin eosin staining reactions cytokeratins (CK), vimentin, desmin, smooth muscle actin, muscle-specific S-100 protein, epithelial membrane antigen (EMA), p53, ki-67. Results: showed predilection for males on their sixth decade life, presenting clinically as painful infiltrative ulcers or ulcerated exophytic polypoid masses, preferably located alveolar mucosa. Mesenchymal markers expressed in but not carcinomatous component SpCC, it was negative all SCC. CKs AE1/AE3, 6, 14, EMA positive both components most SpCCs. These tumors also presented higher p53 ki-67 expression no CK 1 contrast SCC. Conclusion: different clinical profile than histopathologic closer differentiated Besides mesenchymal markers, cells may be useful an adjunct microscopical differential diagnosis SpCC.
