Pradofloxacin in the treatment of canine deep pyoderma: a multicentred, blinded, randomized parallel trial.

摘要: A multicentre, randomized, blinded study compared the efficacy of pradofloxacin with that a combination amoxycillin/clavulanic acid in treatment deep pyoderma dogs. Dogs clinical lesions and positive bacterial culture were included study. At each visit, they evaluated lesion, pruritus general condition scores. treated either at 3 mg kg-1 once daily or amoxycillin 10 clavulanic 2.5 twice weekly for weeks every 2 thereafter until past remission. Maximal duration was 9 weeks, maximal evaluation period 11 weeks. Of 56 dogs (group 1), 48 (86%) achieved remission, four improved, did not respond recurrence signs seen any patient after 51 2), 37 remission (73%), three showed improvement, five no response six dogs, recurred within cessation therapy.
