摘要: The Eo-Cimmerian orogen results from the Late Triassic collision of Iran, a microplate Gondwanan affinity, with southern margin Eurasia. is discontinuously exposed along northern side Alborz Mountains North below siliciclastic deposits Shemshak Formation (Late to Jurassic). A preserved section external part belt crops out in Neka valley (eastern Alborz) south Gorgan. Here Mesozoic successions (Shemshak Upper Cretaceous limestones) overlie sharp unconformity preJurassic thrust stack. stack includes Gorgan Schists, an Ordovician-Lower Silurian LG-metamorphic complex, overthrust southward above strongly deformed Palaeozoic Middle succession belonging Iran.
