摘要: Objective— To determine prognostic evaluation and correlation of the degree narrowing diameter portal vein in dogs with a congenital portosystemic shunt (CPS). Study Design— Longitudinal prospective study. Animals— Ninety-seven CPS. Methods— Shunt was recorded before after silk ligation to calculate closure. Portal measured 74 dogs. Short-term (30 days) long-term (>1 year) outcome were evaluated. Dogs clinical signs 1 year re-examined assess shunting compared matched operated without signs. Correlations between outcome, closure, statistically analyzed. Results— mortality 27% 2.9% respectively. Clinical recurrence occurred 10% The closure significantly associated mortality, but not recurrence. A significant found cranial part vein. only extrahepatic CPS. Subclinical confirmed 3 10 dogs. Conclusion— depended on development. Long-term did depend or development at time surgery. This suggested that factors such as hepatic regeneration surgery may be important. Clinical Relevance— Determination predict surgical treatment CPS is important gain insight selection new therapeutic options.
