摘要: When observers decide how to classify stimuli, they often employ one of two types information: identity along particular dimension or overall similarity. The present studies examined interrelations among the factors which determine use these information. Participants' classifications certain materials (e.g., size and brightness, length density) revealed strong individual differences, were related individual's response tempo selective processing ability, influenced by task demands. Classifications other saturation brightness) did not reveal affected unaffected changes in former, but latter, have also been found be developmental differences. results are consistent with idea that differences ability underlie observer (both developmental) stimuli susceptible such influences set boundary conditions for discussed within an integral-to-separable model processing.
