摘要: We measure the wave drag acting on fully submerged spheres as a function of their depth and velocity, with an apparatus that measures only component due to proximity free surface. observe close surface is order hydrodynamic drag. In our range study, measured force more than one smaller predictions based linear response. investigate this discrepancy, we amplitude waves at origin drag, comparing measurement theoretical model. The model captures measurements “large depth” but wave’s saturates “small depth,” effect partially accounts for difference between predicted
